Test Knit

Test knitting

I am always looking for testers to test out my new pattern designs.

My test knits are intended to be quite stress-free and relaxed but I do ask to respect the given deadline and give your feedback once the test knit is over.

All are welcome, new testers or more experienced, if you have tested for me before or not.

Test knitting

How it works

  • I run the test knit on a dedicated topic in my Ravelry group Kat and Stitches Designs.

The pattern will be professionally graded and tech edited before the test knit.

The pattern document will be hosted on Google docs and will be updated live with any modifications so you will be able to see all changes made.

  • I try to keep 20 - 30 testers for my patterns max, depending on the type of garment. A scarf with only 1 size will need less testers than a sweater with 8 different sizes to test out.

  • The length of the test knit will depend on the pattern itself, the amount of work and the difficulty of the techniques used.

  • I try my best to work with yarn brands in order to offer discount codes to the test knitters who wish to purchase the recommended yarn.

If I wasn’t able to secure a discount, I try to suggest different yarn alternatives.

  • The main elements I require are:

    1. To finish the pattern in the given deadline.

    2. Share at least one public post of the finished object on Instagram

    3. Post a projects page on Ravelry

  • Upon completion of the test knit, testers will receive :

    • The finalised copy of the pattern

    • A coupon code for a free pattern of your choice on my Ravelry store or Etsy shop
